About this event
What do investors actually look for when deciding where to put their money? And what should founders understand before they start raising?
We’re wrapping up 2026 with an Investor Workshop hosted by Birmingham Angels, bringing together investors and founders for a practical conversation about how startup investing actually works.
We’ll hear directly from experienced investors about how they evaluate opportunities, what gets their attention, what raises red flags, and what founders often misunderstand about the fundraising process.
Then, like all The Profile Experience workshops, we’ll get everyone involved through interactive conversations and exercises designed to help you apply what you're hearing.
Whether you're a founder who has raised capital, someone considering a raise in the future, an active investor, or simply interested in understanding this side of Michigan's startup ecosystem, there will be something to take away.
What to expect:
💰 Investor Perspective: Hear directly from investors about how they evaluate companies, founders, and opportunities.
🚀 Founder Perspective: Explore what founders should know before fundraising and how to build stronger relationships with potential investors.
💬 Interactive Workshop: This won't just be a panel. You'll have opportunities to discuss, ask questions, and learn from the other people in the room.
🤝 Curated Connections: We'll intentionally curate tables to bring together different experiences and perspectives.
🍽️ Food & Drinks: Food and drinks will be provided.
📍 Location: Birmingham Angels in Birmingham.
Come ready with your questions and leave with a much clearer understanding of how the other side of the table thinks.
